Confidence and Self-Esteem
Confidence can be an elusive thing. It is hard to understand why it comes and why it goes, how some people have an abundance of it and others have very little indeed. One thing I have learned over the years is that often, those people we admire and envy, who seem to have boundless confidence, if you get to know them better, you realise they are just using the 'fake it to make it’ approach.
Faking it can be very useful in the short term, but longer term, we need to build a calm and solid base of self-esteem which will last. Healthy confidence and self-esteem are fundamental to our ability to live happy and fulfilled lives. Without these things, relationships in a social setting, at work and at home, all suffer. We may not be able to start new relationships at all.
We miss romantic opportunities, jobs, life experiences, and this inevitably leads to our world shrinking more and more. Often, we cannot see a way out.
